Enquiries reveal interst in low-maintenance lifestyle
The plans for these upmarket townhouses were only released this week but already Rodney Moore is taking calls.
Ten new townhouses are set to be built in one of the most sought after areas of Rockhampton. To be located in Macdonald Street, Allenstown, they will be close to schools, a shopping centre, service stations and parks. It's a new style of living that Mr Moore, a real estate agent with Ray White Rockhampton City, said had really become popular in the past 12 months. "It's a cheaper alternative, but is also low maintenance and lock-and-leave type living", he said yesterday.
"We're expecting interest from the investors and owner occupier market." Each townhouse, priced at $335,000, has duplex living, two bedrooms, one bathroom, single lockup garage, private outdoor area and small balcony. Mr Moore said planning for the development had been in the pipeline for some time and construction should start shortly. Two existing homes will have to be removed from the block before construction starts.
"This site will suit future housing affordability for Rockhampton and Central Queensland's growing economy," he said. "It's good to see such a development in the area - it will sit very nicely in the precinct." Mr Moore said the townhouses were selling off the plan.
Professional Real Estate and Realway also have seeling agent for the development.
